Goal Setting:
The first step to becoming an elite athlete is understanding how to effectively set up our goals. This is the core of all athletic work someone does.
Mindfulness:
Managing one's thoughts and feelings so that we can be focused and at our peak is of the utmost importance as an athlete. My philosophy is focused around the idea that our thoughts and feelings are important to understand. We all have them, but when we can understand and accept what we feel we can be in control when it matters.
Traditional Sports:
I have had the opportunity to work with athletes across many disciplines. Baseball, Basketball, Lacrosse and many others, traditional sports encompasses all kinds of individual and team sports. Competitors in traditional sports face many challenges both on and off the field that requires staying at peak mental focus. The skills and tools that mental performance teaches help provide the edge necessary to compete at peak level.
Esports:
Having competed and coached amateur level Esports I think Performance Psychology fits perfectly in with the skills of an Esport athlete. So much of competitive gaming is managing stress and keeping focused. Esport athletes. The world of Esports is continuously growing and changing and understanding how we think and compete will provide Esport athletes with a competitive edge in this fast-paced environment.
Chess:
Growing up in the world of chess it's no surprise that I think mental performance is a wonderful tool for these competitors. The game requires constant and accurate focus. Whether playing rapid games where you need to stay calm to calculate quickly and precisely, or playing in a classical tournament with hours per game mental performance skills and tools can support chess players at the board.
Rock Climbing:
Rock climbing comes in many forms, trad, bouldering, lead and many others. But what they all have in common is an intense focus on mindfulness and being intentional in the work. This is exactly what mental performance wants to help athletes achieve. Whether sending your first V2 or training for competition climbing mental performance work helps athletes take the problems of the wall and work through them.
